About three weeks ago we decided to head out to the west coast of the island. Everyone has always told us how beautiful it is out there so we had to see for ourselves. The only bad thing is the weather, you can never get an acurate forecast. The morning we left it was suppose to be about 24* and sunny. It was about 29* here in Courtenay when we left, once we past Port Alberni the temp reading in the car just continued to go down and the sun went away. We showed up to heavy fog and 14*. Of course we didn't bring jackets for the kids and Huxley was wearing a sleavless shirt, so after making a few stops at a surf store and the CO-OP to get some new, overpriced hoodies we were on our way to the Wild Pacific Trail. We only did about 3Km of the hike as it's not all connected, but the kids could have stayed forever. If we ever get some family out this way to visit, the west coast is definitely a place we will have to go. We loved it over there and can't wait to try Tofino next.
how did i miss this post? beautiful pictures. i love your writing too. "overpriced hoodies"...we've all bought a few!
