Tavie had been looking forward to October 14th for a while. Grandma was to fly in for her baptism on the 15th. What she didn't know was that Joni, Berkley and Presley were coming as well to surprise her!

Tavie seeing Presley for the first time

It was so good to see them together again. They act more like sisters then cousins. Bestest friends!

First stop was to Goose Spit to search out little sea creatures.

Brecken had a fever so he pretty much just chilled by my side most of the weekend. Turns out he had croup and we spent some time in Emerg. But he is doing good now. I am just sad that he had to be sick while his cousins were here.

What to do right before your baptism?? Go fossil hunting of course! The river was really high but everyone found some sort of fossil to take home.

Is this day really here??!!?? It took alot for me to keep the tears from coming while I helped her get dressed into the white jumpsuit. She has grown up so fast and I am so proud of her for wanting to get baptized.

Flowers are from the Heggies and the balloon from Grandma.

Next on the list of things to do...Sea Kayaking. Tavie went with me, Berkley with Brad and Presley with Joni. It was so fun. The kids loved seeing the seals pop up around us.

On the way back I let Tavie paddle the last 100 feet by herself. She did quite well and only complained about her sore arms a few times. Daddy cheered her on from the shore.

You can't come to the Island and not check out Cathedral Grove. The kids had a blast running through the trees!

Coombs is also a must to check out the stores and eat icecream.

On the way back to the Comox Valley we stopped in Qualicum. The kids played and threw rocks in the water. Tavie and Presley were glued at the hip. :) Tuesday came too fast and everyone had to go home. It was so sad to see Tavie, Brecken and Hux have to say good bye to their cousins. It was so great to have family here for such a special time in Tavie's life.
To set this video up. Tavie knew that Grandma was going to be here when she got home from school. She didn't know about the Heggies. Joni was hiding around the corner and the girls were upstairs for the big surprise!
Looks like a great weekend had by all!
ReplyDeleteI really thought I commented on this, but it obviously didn't work. Anyhoo, it sounds like Tavie had a great weekend, and surprise visitors! So fun! I laughed when you asked what you do right before you get baptized, because the first thing that popped into my head was "SIN!" Is that bad? Haha.
