We got up bright and early to catch the ferry then headed straight to the aquarium. As the boys ran wild, Tavie made sure to read every display and every bit of information
The first time we came here Huxley was just a baby so he didn't really get to enjoy it. This time he loved it!
I am realizing that I don't have very many pictures of Brecken. He doesn't stand still long enough for me to get one of him!
The kids chilling with the electric eels.
While Huxley learned all about starfish, Tavie played with the dolphins. It was really cool to watch her. The dolphin was quite interested in her and would come down and just check her out. She would move her hand around the glass and it would follow it. She thought that was pretty amazing!
After the aquarium we headed to Bellingham. On the way to the boarder crossing I remembered that we had half a box of oranges to eat before we crossed into the US. I counted 17 oranges to eat in about 20 mins. And we did it! Tavie ate about 5 and Brecken about 4. Brad and I ate the rest. Thankfully oranges have been a pregnancy craving of mine so it was no problem for me.
Bellingham was a bit of a disappointment. All the stores had been picked over from boxing day sales. So we pretty much just loaded up on treats that we can't get in Canada. Much to Brad dismay we ate supper at Old Country Buffet. A little too "white trash" for Brad but a pregnant ladies dream! And since my kids are so picky they were all able to find something they liked. So it worked out good in my eyes :)
The next day we headed to a few more stores then back into Canada and straight to the Temple. We have had some added stress and worry in our lives and being at the Temple brought us much needed comfort and peace. I wish we lived closer to make it more often.
From there we headed to Ikea then off to the ferry to go back home. It was a fast but great trip. Any time we can get a break from every day things is great. Now we are back into the swing of things. Brecken started trampoline this week and Tavie's ballet started back up as well. Huxley had a big week but I think that calls for a separate blog post. 2012 was a great year and we are looking forward to what 2013 has in store for us!
glad you could take a little family trip. well deserved. Brad, when i see you next month, i will take you out to whatever restaurant you want :) And we're very curious to hear about Hux...
