Summer is over

The last half of summer went by really fast.  The boys went on the ward camp out while Adler, Tavie and I stayed at home.
We hit up lots of parks.  Some days we would meet daddy on his lunch break and go the park closest to his office.  Some days in Courtenay some days in Comox.
The kids started running with daddy.

We headed to Paradise Meadows for a little family stroll.  I love that within 30 mins we go from our front door to this beautiful place up on the mountains.

Tavie decided that she wanted a fish.  She paid for it with her own money and named him Scales.  I am happy to report that he is still alive too!

She also turned into quite the baker.  She can now do brownies, 2 different types of cookies and she also made a layered cake from scratch for Pres. Monson's birthday :)

The kids finished their summer reading program. There was a big party at the library and they each got a medal, certificate, book and cake.

Brad looking like he stepped out of the new TLC tv show "Modern Dads".  Courtenay is not what you should call a shopping hub.  So we headed to Nanaimo to do some back to school shopping.  Huxley was running around like a mad man so we put him in Adlers stroller.  People looked at us like we were a bit crazy  :)
On the very last day of summer we asked the kids what they wanted to do.  Mini golf was at the top of their list.  The kids had a blast!  Huxley asks me daily when we can go again.

After mini golf we headed to the ward corn bust.  The corn was SO good!

Huxley spent most of him time rolling around in the sand....literally.  It took me a while to get all the sand out of his hair!

Which brings us to the first day of school!  Brecken was lucky enough to get the same teacher as last year.  She was awesome.  Tavie has a new teacher and all her friends are in her class.  They are so happy to be back.  They both love school.
Now it is just me and the little boys at home.  The house seems so quiet.  It is really good to get back in a routine.  Tavie is all signed up for her ballet classes and Brecken is doing soccer and basketball this fall.  It is going to be a busy year... I can't wait!
